Finally the day has arrived! From today, we start to welcome back our trainees to their various projects. It’s a great day indeed. 🙂 🙌🏽 🙂
Over the next week, MRO Thrift Shop, MRO Yarns & Crafts, MRO Embroidery & Fine Gifts and MRO Recycling Buckie (including Upcycling) will be busy with welcome back inductions and activities.
However, our opening hours to the public won’t be changing just yet, and we ask for your patience and understanding as we settle the trainees back in.
MRO Recycling Moycroft will be opening soon and we’ll update you as soon as we know more ourselves.
All the best everyone. Follow the guidelines in place, relax and enjoy. 🤩
Photos will look a little different in future, so here’s a few photos from the past ..... before masks and social distancing. 🙂
We look forward to welcoming you back! ...
Welcome back everyone. We know how much everyone has been looking forward to this day and we want to thank staff for all their hard work in preparation for the safe re-opening and the trainees and their families for their patience. 🎉

This is the cause we are supporting with sale of hats and mitts. All proceeds to MFR Cash for Kids #MissionChristmas. Adults hats £8, childrens £5 and mitts £5. Come in and see the lovely selection of colours and sizes.I’ve seen a few posts circulating locally parents worrying about Christmas 🎄🎅😢 We have lots of information to share with you ahead of our official launch 🚀 of #MissionChristmas but for now can I ask you just share this for me please 👇🙏
Hi 👋 I work for MFR Cash for Kids there are only the two of us Lyndsay and I. We are about to launch our Mission Christmas 🎄 Appeal on Monday 16th of November.
All our applications are submitted confidentially through service providers who identify a genuine need like school teachers, health visitors other charitable organisations etc.. They love an generosity our community show year on year is so heartwarming. We will work our socks off throughout these challenging times to ensure no local child wakes up to nothing on Christmas morning!
Please don’t worry we are here to help that’s our job! Just speak to someone or us direct. You can message our FB MFR Cash for Kids or drop us an email firstname.lastname@example.org
We have also helped a lot of families with warm winter clothing etc.. at this time of year. There is absolutely no shame in needing a little help, we’ve all been there at some point in our lives.
Also from MFR Cash for Kids it is a sack of gifts each child gets to the value of £50 all carefully handpicked from the cash and gift donations we get to suit the child’s age etc.. We try and give each child a lovely selection of items, a lot of love goes into them bags ❤️🌈😘 Xxx ...
Please support our efforts for the MFR appeal. Thank you to all you lovely people who returned the ‘knitting packs’ we sent out during lockdown. It’s wonderful how the community pulls together in hard times to help others less fortunate. ...
Many of our trainees and their parents/carers are wondering what is happening and when our training services will start again.
From our side, we have done everything we can and are ready to welcome trainees back. However, it isn't as simple as that. This is explained in the letter you received from the Moray Council recently. I have copied part of that letter below.
Risk Assessments are required to be signed off by Public Health to ensure we have everything in place to keep you safe. They have all our risk assessments and we hope to hear this week about that.
We have not yet been informed by The Moray Council which trainees have been assessed and are returning to us. We are waiting to hear very soon, as the Allocations Team was in the process of allocating places last week. I believe the letter says that someone will be in touch with you from the Moray Council to let you know the decision of the panel and to look at your requirements.
Once we have the allocations list, we will contact you and will give you all the information you need about when to come and what to expect. Things will be a little different than before, as we have to keep 2m apart and wear PPE (unless exempt) but we have systems in place ready to welcome you back or welcome new people.
You may have received a letter from the Moray Council. I have copied part of the letter and you can see this below. This is not a letter saying you will return to MRO, this is a letter saying things are under review and they hope to start the phased return FROM 19th October.
EXCERPT FROM THE MORAY COUNCIL LETTER
"An Allocation Panel will meet in early October to consider the level of risk for each individual and their unpaid carer/s in order to prioritise the available places. A member of staff will contact you to tell you the decision of the panel.
If you are allocated a place we will provide further information on the new day service arrangements so you know what to expect.
If you are not allocated a place we will have a further conversation with you to explore alternative ways to meet your care and support needs. Your risk assessment can be reviewed if there is a substantial change in your circumstances. You may decide you do not wish to return to your day service at this time. If you remain eligible for the service, you would be able to take up your place again at a
future date, subject to a place being available. Please discuss any concerns you may have with the member of staff who contacts
If they haven’t been in touch James, then there is no definite arrangement for next week. Contact them on Monday with your concerns.
Hope To Get Back To Working Really Soon Missing all The Staff This is Great To Know About This Hope Everything Goes Really Well xxx
Stay safe guys 💞 missing all the banter and (Shirley) missing coffee
Fingers crossed it is not too much longer folks, you're all ACE. MISS YOU ALL 😉
Stay safe miss you all
