Hi Folks - Would you like to help and support your local charity, Moray Reach Out! Here’s how you ‘can’. As of Monday, the Moray Council will not collect recycling until further notice. So why not save your drinks cans for us - rinse them out, and collect them in a black bag, ready to drop off at one of our shops once we reopen - we have sites at Lossiemouth, Elgin and Buckie! Spread the word! We support vulnerable people throughout Moray, but are now facing hard times due to our services and shops being closed. Saving your drinks cans for us will boost our income - as we get paid for the cans we process, bale and sell on. Please share far and wide and most importantly STAY SAFE - FOLLOW THE GOVT AND NHS GUIDELINES! ...

Scottish Government guidance today is for all shops, who are not providing food or medication, to close. It’s with much regret, that we are closing our doors to the public at 23 East Church Street, Buckie and 15 High Street, Elgin (the Yarns & Crafts, Thrift Shop and Embroidery & Fine Gifts shops). These close tonight (23.3.20) at 4 p.m.
Our Recycling Service will continue to pick up waste this week and may offer a reduced service from next week, operated by staff only. Many of our customers have had to close.
The Materials Recycling Facility in Lossiemouth will be closing today - we have just had that update from the Moray Council.
Staff & Volunteers will be advised by their Line Manager on our contingency plans. ...

Processing at MRO Recycling, Buckie. The van is out from Monday to Thursday, collecting cans and plastic bottles from our customers. Every day when they return, they empty the bags into the yard. On Wednesdays and Thursdays (sometimes Fridays too!), our hard-working and skilled trainees start the processing. Photos show the steps involved: 1) the forklift loader bucket gets filled by the team. 2) The loader bucket fills up the hopper. 3) One of our trainees controls the speed of the materials entering the plant from the hopper - Jamie pictured here. 4) The conveyor belt moves the cans and plastic towards our picking team. See more tomorrow........... ...
