It’s that time of year again! This beautiful Shetland sheep is Nina 
Her colour is called moorit, an Icelandic word, which translates to “as red as the moors” 
We got a 5 meter fleece! It is amazing how long a fleece from a little Shetland sheep is.
The fleece has been laid out to “skirt” off any of the rough mucky edges. We are really pleased with the exceptional quality of the fleeces this year, they are going to make some wonderful yarn.
We are now skirting and cleaning the freshly sheared fleece – ready to be teased, carded and spun
