Healthier Lives Newsletter

May 22, 2026

Edition 1

Welcome to the very first Healthier Lives Newsletter from Moray Reach Out!

We’re delighted to launch this new project and begin sharing information, resources, and opportunities to support health and wellbeing across our community.

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week, this first edition focuses on mental wellbeing, something that affects us all.

What is Mental Wellbeing?

Mental well-being is about how we think, feel, and cope with everyday life. It’s not just about managing challenges – it’s also about feeling connected, confident, and supported.

Did you know?
  • 1 in 4 people in the UK experience a mental health problem each year
  • Regular physical activity can reduce the risk of depression by up to 30%
  • Social connection can significantly improve mood and reduce feelings of isolation

Top Tips for Supporting Your Mental Wellbeing
  • Stay connected – Talking to others can help you feel supported and less alone
  • Keep active – Even a 10-minute walk can boost your mood
  • Take time for yourself – Do something you enjoy or find relaxing
  • Talk about how you feel – Opening up can help ease pressure
  • Build a routine – Having structure can support stability and reduce stress

Try This Week

Pick one small action to support your wellbeing:

  • Go for a short walk
  • Message or call someone you trust
  • Spend 10 minutes doing something you enjoy
  • Take a break from social media

Small, everyday actions can make a big difference.
