MRO Thrift Shop

Step into the MRO Thrift Shop and discover a world of hidden gems, all while supporting a truly inspiring cause! Open Monday to Friday, our vibrant shop is run by a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and trainees, who work side by side to bring the shop to life.

From sorting, steaming, labelling and displaying donations, our trainees are at the heart of everything we do. The shop provides a fun, friendly and supportive space where they can build valuable retail and customer service skills, grow in confidence, and feel a real sense of pride and community connection.

We encourage creativity too, with trainees helping to design and arrange our eye-catching mannequin displays, making the shop a lovely, inviting place to visit.

We stock an ever-changing mix of quality second-hand items, including:

  • Women’s, men’s and kid’s clothing

  • Unique collectables and curiosities

  • Books, CDs, records, and DVDs

  • Homewares, jewellery, toys, and more!

You’ll also find seasonal goodies throughout the year – from Halloween costumes to Christmas cards and decorations, there’s always something special waiting to be discovered.

And if you’re after a bargain with peace of mind, we also sell PAT-tested electrical items (excluding personal care appliances), so you can shop safely and affordably.

Every visit, every purchase, and every donation helps empower our trainees – supporting their journey towards independence, new skills and brighter futures.

Gift Aid – Support that goes further

When you donate to our Thrift Shop, you’re doing so much more than decluttering – you’re helping us transform lives. By signing up for Gift Aid, your donation can go even further at no extra cost to you.

Through the Gift Aid scheme, we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated, directly from HMRC. That extra boost allows us to continue providing meaningful work experience and training for adults with learning disabilities across Moray.

Here’s how to sign up: 1️⃣ Visit our Thrift Shop. 2️⃣ Ask our friendly staff about Gift Aid. 3️⃣ Fill out a short form – it’s quick and easy!

Your generosity helps us offer placements that build skills, boost confidence, and create brighter futures for our trainees.

Thank you for supporting MRO – where every purchase and donation makes a real difference. 💚

What We Love to Accept!

At Moray Reach Out’s Thrift Shop, we’re always thrilled to receive a wide range of items. Your generous donations support our mission to empower lives, and here’s what we especially appreciate:

1. Good Quality Clothing: We gladly accept gently-worn clothing for adults and children. From fashionable outfits to everyday wear, your donations can make a significant difference in the lives of others.

2. Accessories: Whether it’s a stylish handbag, a pair of shoes, or jewelry, your accessory donations are a fantastic addition to our shop. They can help individuals express their unique style.

3. Linens (including curtains and fabrics): Don’t let your unused linens, curtains, or fabrics gather dust. We welcome these items, as they can be transformed into something beautiful and useful through our upcycling projects.

4. Homeware: If you have homeware items like kitchenware, decor, or small appliances that are in good condition, we’re excited to give them a new home. Your homeware donations can brighten up someone’s living space.

5. Books, CDs, and DVDs: Share the joy of reading and entertainment by donating your books, music, and movies. These items are not only enjoyable but also provide learning opportunities and entertainment for all.

6. Toys: Children’s toys are always in demand. Your toy donations can bring smiles to kids’ faces and provide them with engaging playtime experiences.

Thank you for considering these items when making your donations to our Thrift Shop. Your support means the world to us and those we serve.
