Our talented woodwork team give new life to reclaimed materials; we not only create beautiful handcrafted items but also promote sustainability.

We are also proud of our Art Yarn, crafted from start to finish using traditional techniques. From shearing the wool to teasing and spinning, every step is carried out with skill and dedication. Using fleece from local farmers, we create high-quality yarn that is truly special.

🌍 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 – 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟒 🌍

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲’𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬: 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 🖤

Knowing where these go helps keep Moray’s recycling clean, safe, and effective ♻️

✅ Black bags: Do not place recyclables inside black bags. 🚫 Sealed bags cannot be safely opened for sorting and may be rejected. Always put items directly into the appropriate recycling bins 🗑️
✅ Soft plastics: Items like bread bags, crisp packets, sandwich wraps, cling film, and carrier bags cannot go in kerbside bins. 🚫 Use supermarket drop-off points or one of Moray’s recycling points and larger recycling centres ♻️

Join us for Day 5, and we’ll tell you how to safely handle sharp items and glass to protect our trainees and waste crews! 🔪🛡️

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲’𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬: 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐢𝐥, 𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐨𝐢𝐥, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐬 🐟

Never pour cooking oil down the sink, it can clog pipes and strain the drainage system. 🚫

In Moray, you have a couple of good options:
✅ Compost small amounts: If you have a home composting setup, small amounts of cooled, solidified fat or oil may be manageable (check your composting rules) 🌱♻️
✅ Take to a council recycling centre: Many of Moray’s recycling centres accept used cooking oil in dedicated containers 🏢http://www.moray.gov.uk/index.html

Join us for Day 4 which is all about soft plastics and black bags – discover the do’s and don’ts to keep Moray’s recycling clean and safe! 🛍️🖤♻️

🌍 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 – 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟏 🌍

Over the next 12 days, we’ll be sharing simple tips at noon each day to help you recycle smarter, reduce contamination, and support a cleaner, greener Moray. Small actions make a big impact, for our environment and for the trainees who work hard sorting your recycling at Moray Reach Out 💙

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲’𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬: 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 & 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞 ♻️

✅ Empty liquids: Before putting bottles, cans, or containers into your recycling bins, make sure they’re completely emptied. Leftover liquids can leak, contaminate other recyclables, and create slip hazards for our trainees and staff.
✅ Rinse items: A quick rinse removes leftover food or drink residue. Items don’t need to be spotless, just clean enough to prevent smells, pests, and contamination. This helps Moray’s recycling operations run smoothly and safely.

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲!✨
Tomorrow, we’re stepping into the world of sustainable festive fashion 👗 see how your wardrobe can help Moray and the planet 🌍
