Piper’s Journey at Moray Reach Out

Mar 11, 2025

At Moray Reach Out (MRO), we love providing opportunities for individuals to gain hands-on experience and develop valuable skills for the future. We were delighted to welcome Piper for a four-week internship as part of an 18-month Career Ready programme set up by her school. This work experience placement, within our Art Yarn and Yarns and Crafts projects, gave Piper the chance to gain a greater understanding of the working world and explore potential career paths after education.

Building Skills and Confidence

Throughout her time with us, Piper embraced every challenge with enthusiasm. From working with textiles and crafts to engaging with the team and learning new skills, she made the most of every opportunity. Her mentor, Shona, has been supporting her throughout the Career Ready programme and has seen first-hand how much Piper has become more self-assured and capable in a working environment.

“I have seen Piper grow in confidence and gain new skills.” says Shona. “I look forward to keeping in touch and seeing how she fulfils the very clear aims she has in life.”

A Bright Future Ahead

Piper’s work experience with MRO has given her a valuable insight into the world of work, helping her refine her ideas about what she might want to pursue in the future. We have no doubt that her dedication and positive attitude will take her far, whatever path she chooses.

Well Done, Piper!

We’d like to say a huge well done to Piper for all she has achieved during her internship. We also want to extend our thanks to everyone at Moray Reach Out who supported her along the way. We look forward to keeping in touch and seeing all the great things she goes on to accomplish!
