Celebrate and Inspire
Moray Reach Out marks Volunteers’ Week 2023.
2023 marks the 39th year of Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June), when Moray Reach Out will join thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK. With this year’s theme of ‘Celebrate and Inspire’ we hope to encourage people to be the change that we want to see and get involved in volunteering in whatever way works for them.
The contribution of volunteers is often unseen and unrecognised by many, visible only through the incredible impact of their volunteering, so taking the time during Volunteers’ Week to celebrate their efforts and all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector and society as a whole has never been more important.
Shona Radojkovic – “A wee note to say how much Moray Reach Out appreciates YOU and all you do. Not just during Volunteers Week, but every day of every week. You give your time which is one of the most precious things a person can give another.
You make it possible for Moray Reach Out to help adults with disabilities gain a real sense of purpose and pride. Thank you for all you do.”
A few quotes from our dedicated and devoted volunteers:
Mo Wishart – “I’ve been with Moray Reach Out for 15 years. Working with the young adults with learning disabilities. Is a great pleasure, when I walk in on a Monday morning, and there all smiles is worth every minute I’m there.”
Alison Gardinier – “I’m a relative newbie so there is still a lot to learn. The trainees are great to be around and always keep me on tract as I can be rather forgetful. The banter here is fantastic and everyone is always having good fun!”
Caroline Poulton – “I am a regular Monday volunteer (and occasional employee) at the Elgin MRO Embroidery Shop. I’ve been involved with MRO for over a year and it is great to see the trainees learning new skills and growing in confidence. Their happy smiling faces are enough to brighten any Monday.”
