Around The World for MRO

In 2026, Moray Reach Out (MRO) invites you to take part in a year-long movement and fundraising challenge.

The Goal

See how far we can travel together – one mile at a time. Every 25,000 miles logged equals a full journey around the world. This challenge is about community, wellbeing, and collective impact. Every step, cycle, swim, or mile contributes to our shared total and supports adults with disabilities across Moray.

How It Works

  1. Register your challenge – online or using the downloadable registration form
  2. Choose your month(s) to take part
  3. Set a personal mileage goal that is realistic and meaningful for you
  4. Log your miles – walking, cycling, swimming, using a static bike, wheelchairmobility, or everyday movement
  5. Raise sponsorship (optional but encouraged!)

Make it your own:

  • Walk 10 miles in a month
  • Cycle 50 miles over two months
  • Build up gradually to reach a personal goal
  • Convert your steps into miles and set a target

You can participate on your own, with a partner, or as part of a group. While it isn’t competition-based, friendly rivalry is welcome to see who can log the most miles in the designated time. Progress matters more than distance – every mile counts.

Our Global Journey

As miles are logged, we’ll celebrate milestone landmarks on each 25,000-mile lap:

  • 0% – Buckie Harbour
  • 20% – Eiffel Tower, Paris
  • 35% – Pyramids of Giza
  • 50% – Statue of Liberty, New York
  • 65% – Great Wall of China
  • 75% – Mount Fuji, Japan
  • 90% – Sydney Opera House
  • 100% – One full journey around the world!

 Mileage Log Sheets

We encourage weekly logging online. If that’s tricky, you can submit totals at the end of each month, but please ensure all miles are entered by the end of your challenge.
