Mental Health Awareness Week 2025

Moray Reach Out Supports Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 🌿🧠

At Moray Reach Out, we believe mental health matters every day – but this week, we proudly joined people across the UK to shine an extra spotlight on wellbeing for Mental Health Awareness Week 2025.

This year’s theme is “Community” – something that’s at the very heart of everything we do. Whether it’s through meaningful work, creativity, or simply sharing a moment with others, we know that being part of a supportive community makes a real difference to our mental wellbeing.

To mark the week, we asked our staff, volunteers and amazing trainees a simple but powerful question:

“What do you do to cheer yourself up when you’re feeling low?”

From listening to music to gardening, spending time with loved ones, crafting, or enjoying a quiet cuppa – the responses were heartfelt and inspiring. We turned their answers into a joyful word cloud, capturing the uplifting ways our MRO community looks after their mental health. 💬☁️

🌼 A Mindful Monday at MRO

To kick off the week, on Monday 12th May, our staff took part in a special Mental Health Awareness Day, packed with activities that brought us together and celebrated the power of connection.

Here’s what we got up to:

🌱 Gardening – We got stuck into some planting and weeding at our new garden at the Buckie head office, helping to make it look lovely and inviting for summer. It was a great opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, work together, and take pride in creating a bright, welcoming space for everyone.

🌿 Willow Weaving – We were delighted to be joined by Martin from Naturally Useful, who guided us through a relaxing and creative session where we learned how to weave beautiful willow flowers – perfect for decorating our gardens! The hands-on activity was not only fun and calming, but also gave us a lovely keepsake to remind us of the day.

💬 Communications Workshop – We explored how to connect with each other more openly and supportively, strengthening the foundations of our fantastic team. Good communication is at the heart of a healthy community, and it was a brilliant chance to reflect, learn and grow together.

Why This Matters

Here at Moray Reach Out, community is our foundation. Whether you’re a trainee, volunteer, staff member or supporter, we’re all part of something bigger – a place where people are empowered, encouraged, and valued for who they are.

Mental Health Awareness Week reminds us just how important those connections are. By checking in, listening, creating together and lifting each other up, we make our community stronger – and healthier – every day.

Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts and joined in this week. You help make MRO the warm, welcoming place it is. 💚
