Happy New Year to you all!
Since our last newsletter, there is a wee bit of news to share with you.
Our online shop launched in December 2021 and has new items this year. Please check it out, all items are hand-crafted by our trainees and project assistants. Shop.morayreachout.org.uk
We have a new addition to our Moray Reach Out Embroidery Team. Lisa Anderson has joined us this week and we all wish her a very warm welcome to the team. Firstly, we would like to congratulate Fiona McKenzie on her appointment as Chair. Fiona joined as a Director in November 2019 and has been very proactive with the charity, so it is no surprise that the whole Board were unanimous in making her Chair in November 2021. My heartfelt thanks to all the Board for their ongoing support. You can see details of all our Board members on the About section of www.morayreachout.org.uk
In addition, in the lead up to Spring we will be organising an Easter raffle. Once things have been confirmed we will send out details on how you can get involved.
During the next few months, we look ahead with optimism and hope to welcome some new referrals to our projects and for the projects to continue to develop and thrive. Our quarterly newsletters will update you on the major things. Meantime follow us on social media or on our website social media link.
Christmas Kindness
We want to mention a few companies who not only support our charity but were also kind enough to give us some gifts over the winter!

MORAY REACH OUT PROJECTS
Training & Trading in Retail, Recycling and Crafts
Altogether MRO has 7 different projects running throughout the Moray area, all of which provide placements for adults with learning disabilities and those who are suffering/recovering from mental health problems.
MRO supports mental health and wellbeing, not just with our trainees but our volunteers and staff as well.
Our motto is “Do with and not for” and our vision is to empower lives. We are immensely proud of the work our trainees and project assistants do, and of the products and services they are involved in making and/or delivering. Below you will find a summary of each project and anything particularly interesting that is occurring in those projects at this time.
Don’t forget to check out our Social Media feed on the website or follow us on FB for the most up to date news 😊
MRO Recycling Elgin @mrorecycling
We cannot believe that we are now in 2022! We would like to thank our Christmas team who kept everything running over the winter holidays!
Just a reminder, the plastics which you can now recycle includes type 1, 2 and 5, so, that’s plastic bottles, plastic trays and yogurt pots with these numbers within the triangle.
MRO Recycling Buckie @mrorecycling
Our Buckie Recycling project operates a van collection service which collects recyclable plastics and cans from commercial customers. We then take it back to our site and process these items into aluminium, steel and plastic bales.
Upcycling Project @mroartyarn
We upcycle from wood pallets and anything else that we can give new life too, producing a whole range of finished products which include picnic tables (with and without benches), red squirrel feeders, bird boxes, insect hotels, buttons and many more.
All our upcycled items are on our online store now! If you wish for us to make something specific for you, drop us an email on orders@morayreachout.org.uk and we will let you know if it is possible.
MRO Art Yarn @mroartyarn
We produce quality hand spun wool with natural colours and textures from local Scottish Sheep, including our own!! Our wool spinning team, processes fleece into beautiful hand spun wool for sale in our shop and online! We would like to thank all the customers so far who have bought online as every purchase supports our charity and we are so grateful.
